Safford, Arizona | Graham County
BWS Architects is working with the City of Safford to rejuvenate the existing Safford City Graham County Library. The library is currently housed in a single story, 20,000 square foot, L-shaped building constructed in 1946 and located in downtown Safford. No improvements have been made to the facility since the library was relocated to this space in the early 1990’s. This new project will improve everyday staff efficiencies, upgrade to current codes and ADA requirements, and create an exciting, interactive learning environment for all in the community to enjoy. In addition to redesigning the staff work areas, upgrading the rest rooms, improving the program room, and updating the main collection and reading areas, we are creating a new Teen Room and Fab Lab. The Teen Room will include spaces for gaming, studying, casual reading and socializing. The Fab Lab incorporates spaces for 3-D printing, EggBot machines and other technology that can be securely stored when the space is being used for more typical activities, such as computer classes.
