Frank Slingerland AIA LEED AP

Frank is the Design Principal of BWS Architects.  He joined the firm in 2009, after a 14 year stint at Durrant Architects, where he started as an architectural designer and rose to become principal and design director. While at Durrant, Frank led interdisciplinary teams in the design of a variety of projects, large and small, throughout Arizona and nationally.  A graduate of the University of Arizona, Frank’s work has been published and has received numerous design awards.  Among his most notable projects are the Manzanita District Park Aquatics Center, the Marana Municipal Complex, the Aspen Recreation Center, the El Pueblo Senior Center, and, most recently, the San Xavier District Governmental Center.

Frank, who has almost 25 years of experience in architectural planning, programming and design, strives to create environments that foster learning, encourage interaction, and aesthetically and functionally meet the needs of the people who inhabit them.  With the understanding that thoughtful, contextually sensitive design adds immeasurable value to any project, his enthusiastic approach makes him a pleasure to work with. As Design Principal, Frank leads the design effort on all of the firm’s projects, collaborating with the team to generate and develop ideas.
